DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA, September 27, 2012- Volvik, the Korean golf ball company and title sponsor of the Symetra Tour’s Race for the Card, awarded Mi Hyang Lee of Incheon, South Korea, with the third and final Volvik Bright and Bold Performance Award. The award recognizes the player, who plays the trademark color Volvik ball, with the lowest scoring average through the 11th and 15th events. Players had to play in a minimum of ten rounds over the five tournaments. Lee was presented a $2,500 check at the Tour’s stop this week in Daytona Beach, Fla. at the Daytona Beach Invitational Presented by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
After receiving the Volvik Bright and Bold Performance check, Lee graciously donated a generous $1,000 to the LPGA Foundation.
“The award not only gives the player motivation but it also recognizes her achievement on the Symetra Tour,” said Chairman Moon. “In addition, it also brings her one step closer to fulfilling her dream.”
“I didn’t know I won the award but now that I won, I am very happy,” Lee said. “I tried to play my best at all times and I would like to thank Volvik for all their continuous support of not only myself but the entire Symetra Tour.”
Lee recorded a 71.30 scoring average over 13 rounds and beat out Victoria Elizabeth who posted a 72.10 through 13 rounds. During the second series of the award, Lee notched her first-career victory at the Symetra Classic in Charlotte, N.C. and recorded two additional top-5 finishes. Her win helped her jump up the season’s money list and is currently ranked No. 5 in the Volvik Race for the Card.
