It's the Final Countdown: Two Days until Ten Cards - Players on the Verge

With only one tournament remaining on the 2012 Symetra Tour schedule, it is crunch time for players who currently stand outside the top-10 on the Volvik Race for the Card standings. Players finishing in the top-10 on the season-ending Volvik Race for the Card standings will earn fully exempt status on next year’s LPGA Tour making it crucial for players in spots 11 through 15 on the money list to post a top finish in this week’s tournament. With only two days left until the lives of those 10 players are changed forever, symetratour.com will highlight an aspect of the season-long competition as the Race enters the last leg.

Also on line for several players is direct entry into Stage III of Qualifying School. The top-10 on the Symetra Tour money list after this week who do not already have LPGA Status will bypass Stage II and go directly to Stage III of Qualifying School.

Jaclyn Sweeney: Sweeney currently stands in the dreaded number 11 spot on the Volvik Race for the Card standings. This year, she has only missed one cut and noted four top-10 finishes including a win at the Credit Union Challenge. Sweeney spent three week inside the top-10 after win but fell outside after a tied for 12th finish at the Symetra Classic.

Sara Brown: Brown, currently number 12 on the Volvik Race for the Card standings, slipped outside the top-10 after her first missed cut of the year at last week’s Vidalia Championship. This year, the Michigan State University graduate has posted three top-10 finishes including her first Symetra Tour victory at the inaugural My Marsh Golf Classic.

Leah Wigger: After accepting a position as the assistant women’s golf coach at University of North Carolina, Wigger has only played in seven tournaments this year but still manages to stand No. 13 on the Volvik Race for the Card standings. Out of the seven tournaments she has played in this year, she has notched two top-10 finishes including a win at the Island Resort Championship.

Olivia Jordan-Higgins: Currently No. 14 on the Volvik Race for the Card standings, Higgins is looking to break inside the top-10 for the first time this year. In her second year on tour, Jordan-Higgins has posted two runner-up finishes at the Credit Union Challenge and Symetra Classic.

Jean Chua: Chua comes into this week No. 15 on the Volvik Race for the Card standings. This year, the Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia native has posted five top-10 finishes in the 13 tournaments she has played in including a season-best tied for second finish at the Riviera Nayarit Classic.

2013 LPGA Tour Cards will be awarded at the conclusion of the Daytona Beach Invitational on September 30th. See what players will earn their cards and who will be competing on the LPGA next year. The entire Volvik Race for the Card ceremony will air on Monday, October 1st at 2pm ET on www.ustream.tv/lpga
