FINDLAY, Ohio, Dec. 18, 2013 - Marathon Petroleum Corporation (MPC) today announced it will donate $10,000 to the non-profit organization Golf Fore Africa in honor of LPGA Vare Trophy recipient Stacy Lewis.

Golf Fore Africa Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing hope and support to children in Africa who have been orphaned or made vulnerable by the AIDS pandemic. The organization, founded by LPGA Hall of Fame Golfer Betsy King in early 2007, provides education, medical care and assistance, training on HIV/AIDS prevention and community support. This includes the funding of a wide range of projects that offer hope for a better life by providing access to medical treatment, education, agriculture assistance and clean water resources.

"Stacy's consistent performance during the 2013 LPGA season was truly exceptional and all of us at MPC remain inspired by her outstanding achievements," said MPC Senior Vice President Tom Kelley. "We proudly congratulate Stacy on all of her accomplishments this year and are pleased to honor her with this donation to Golf Fore Africa on her behalf. Stacy's dedication, hard work and perseverance have continued to demonstrate that she is a best-in-class athlete."

Lewis completed the 2013 LPGA season with three victories, 19 top-10 finishes and was awarded the Vare Trophy for achieving the league's best scoring average, at 69.48 strokes per round. This is the first time an American has received this award since 1994.
