North Texas LPGA Shootout – College Am Shootout

Tour’s first visit to the region in more than 20 years will support junior golf with tournament exemptions

 

Las Colinas, Texas, February 20, 2013 – The Nexus Club, host of the North Texas LPGA Shootout, to be held at Las Colinas Country Club April 25 to 28, 2013, today announced that the application period is now open for the Collegiate-Amateur Shootout. 18 college players will be selected to participate in this inaugural 18-hole event to determine the two players who will earn the opportunity to compete against the best professionals in the world at the North Texas LPGA Shootout. There will be 18 teams, each featuring one college player and four sponsor/amateurs. The two collegiate players with the lowest gross scores qualify for exemptions into the LPGA tournament with the third and fourth place finishers earning exemptions into the LPGA Monday Qualifier (April 22, 2013) for the LPGA tournament. Applications are due March 1, 2013, and can be downloaded at www.ntshootout.com. Entries are not limited to Texas schools. College-Am Sponsor packages available, including playing position, tournament tickets and invitations to the Black Tie Pairings Party to be held April 23, 2013.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Applicants must be female college students at an accredited college/university or within a year of eligibility with an established handicap of 2.0 or less (must be verifiable)
  • Applicants must attach a biography including personal golf history (tournaments/finishes, rankings, etc.)
  • Applications must be received by March 1, 2013

PROCESS:

The North Texas Shootout Amateur Selection Committee will select 18 college females (and a list of alternates) who meet all requirements to participate in the North Texas Shootout College-Am tournament on Tuesday, March 12.  The entry for college players chosen to participate will be $250 per player.   Each collegiate player will be accompanied by a walking scorer and paired with a group of amateur sponsors for the 18-hole tournament. 

FINISHERS:

First and second place collegiate finishers in the college-am win exemption (non-transferable) into the North Texas LPGA Shootout Tournament, April 25-28, 2013 at Las Colinas Country Club (LCCC).

  • Practice rounds will be available with charge
