Galloway, NJ (February 19, 2013) – “A Shore Tradition” of community service and volunteerism continues as the 2013 ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer kicks off volunteer recruitment for the 2013 event. Returning to the famed Bay Course at the Stockton Seaview Hotel & Golf Club, Monday, May 27 through June 2, the ongoing success of the tournament depends heavily on the dedication of nearly 1,000 volunteers needed to support a wide range of tournament operations.

“Whether they are inside the ropes or helping behind the scenes, the volunteers are the heart and soul of our tournament and its positive impact on the region,” said Tim Erensen, Executive Director of the ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer. “Each and every one of our volunteers plays a major role in making the ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer a world class sporting event, and one of South Jersey’s largest contributors to critical non-profit community organizations."

With the on-going support of AtlantiCare — the Official Sponsor of the Volunteer Program — the tournament has again assembled a valuable volunteer package. Each volunteer is required to purchase a $40 Official Volunteer Package which includes one official volunteer golf shirt; choice of hat or visor; free parking and entrance into the tournament all week; two Good Any Day Grounds tickets to give away to family or friends; breakfast and lunch during days worked; and for those working a minimum of three shifts, a round of golf on the tournament course for just one $25 cart fee.

“We’re pleased to partner with the ShopRite LPGA Classic, as it continues this wonderful event that helps so many in our community – including the children in our community who benefit from AtlantiCare’s Healthy Schools, Healthy Children Initiative," said Lori Herndon, executive vice president, AtlantiCare, and president, CEO, AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center. “The Classic’s tradition of making a difference in our community mirrors AtlantiCare’s commitment to building healthy communities.”

Registration is open to the public, and special programs are available for groups such as high school teams, clubs and community organizations. To register online, visit For questions about volunteering, contact Tournament Coordinator Bill Hansen at or call 609.798.0222 x12.
