DAYTONA BEACH, Florida, March 15, 2012 - The LPGA today announced the relaunch of its mobile website, now available with an enhanced design for improved viewing on tablets as well as mobile devices. The new mobile website and tablet site at m.lpga.com, will be available this week to LPGA fans as the tour opens its U.S. domestic schedule this week in Phoenix, Ariz. at the RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup.
New features include easy app-like navigation, a news carousel for simple reading, the addition of video content and direct access to tournament microsites. The tour's mobile website earned a 135% increase of page views last year compared to 2011 and saw a 152% jump in unique visitors.
"We are continuously working on keeping our fan base well-informed and providing the tour's followers easy access to current information on the go," said Brian Carroll, LPGA Vice President of Television and Emerging Media. "The new mobile website allows us on the back end to do real-time updates on the fly, allowing us to deliver scores, news and player spotlights to its users on an easy-to-use platform."
Powered by July Systems, a mobile application platform that speeds the creation and deployment of mobile experiences, the LPGA's new mobile website drives for increased engagement, activation, and commerce opportunities. July Systems allows the LPGA to build, run, and manage all of their mobile services on a single platform and empowers internal brand and marketing leaders to design the mobile experiences that serve their audiences best - without the expense or time needed in traditional mobile development. This brings the LPGA closer to their audiences and allows them to quickly share the information and experiences their fans want most, across all major OS and device platforms.
"We are thrilled to support the LPGA in continuously enhancing their new mobile strategy," says Rajesh Reddy, CEO and founder of July Systems. "The LPGA is an organization that understands the importance of a strong, consistent mobile presence that delivers relevant content to its audience quickly, in a way that enhances the users' overall experience. LPGA is a perfect case of how a company works with July Systems to quickly create, deploy, test and refine mobile campaigns that deliver results without reliance on outside resources."
The LPGA Tour is also currently in production stages for new iPhone, Android and iPad apps, planned to be launched this summer.
Also launching is another new media feature - eCal - a dynamic calendar marketing system, with the ability to deliver to fans LPGA Tour event information and TV times directly to the user's desktop, mobile and social calendar programs. eCal's live connection will deliver instant event updates to keep fans up-to-date.
