PHOENIX, Ariz. – Kailey Fraher, a 14-year-old freshman at Seton Catholic Prep and member of the Sentinels varsity golf team, is the lucky winner of the RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup “Caddie for a Day” contest. Fraher’s essay was selected from more than 100 entries that were submitted during the month of February, and as the winner she will get the opportunity to caddie for LPGA Tour professional Katie Futcher during the Wednesday Pro-Am.

“Katie is who I look up to on the LPGA Tour and she is the one who made me realize that nothing is impossible in life,” Fraher said in her essay. “You just have to strive to be the best that you can be and then go a little bit further and you can reach your goals.”

The Pro-Am will be played on Wednesday, March 13, prior to the start of the four-day tournament that will be played March 14-17 at Wildfire Golf Club at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and Spa.

“We had a number of fantastic essays submitted, but Kailey’s essay really stood out from the rest,” said RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup Tournament Director Chris Garrett. “This is a unique opportunity, especially for a young, aspiring LPGA Tour player like Kailey, so we are excited to award her this opportunity.”

Entering its third consecutive year, the RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup will be played March 12-17, 2013, at Wildfire Golf Club at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and Spa. This full-field, four-day event will be televised live on The Golf Channel all four days and features a $1.5 million purse, with $225,000 going to the champion. Karrie Webb won the inaugural RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup tournament in 2011, while two-time Rolex Player of the Year winner Yani Tseng captured the title in 2012. The tournament was established to honor the 13 original Founders of the LPGA Tour, as well as to help provide a future for the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Program, which has received more than $1 million from tournament proceeds in the last two years.
