Rosie Jones Hosts Second Annual LPGA Legends Event in July

BOSTON, May 22, 2013 – The Legends Tour, the Official Senior Tour of the LPGA, along with the Judson Collegiate Invitational Foundation, will join together again this summer for the second annual Judson Collegiate and Legends Pro-Am Challenge presented by Jones Lang LaSalle.

The event will feature 60 top female college players competing alongside 30 LPGA Legends Tour professionals. Set for July 12-15 at the Country Club of Roswell in Roswell, Ga., the four-day tournament will include a Legends Challenge event with a $120,000 purse for the professionals.

“This tournament is a special format that pairs many of the greatest LPGA Tour players with young collegiate women who aspire to succeed not only in golf, but in business and life, as well,” said retired LPGA player Rosie Jones, the event’s Legends Tour host and a former collegian at Ohio State University. “Our mission at the Judson Collegiate Invitational is to provide an experience of both leadership and competitive golf at its best.”

Thirty teams comprised of one professional, one collegiate player and three amateurs will compete together in a pro-am on Friday, July 12, starting at 11 a.m.

The pro-am will be followed by a team (Pro/Collegian) best-ball competition on Saturday, July 13, in which Legends Tour professionals will compete for prize money in a stroke-play format, while the college players will begin the first round of the collegiate stroke-play tournament.

The stroke-play event for collegiate players will continue on Sunday and Monday, July 14-15.

The Judson Collegiate and Legends Pro-Am challenge will headline LPGA Legends Rosie Jones, who lives in Atlanta, as well as Nancy Lopez, Betsy King, Pat Bradley, Beth Daniel, Liselotte Neumann and Sherri Steinhauer. Top collegiate players and special invitees will comprise the amateur field.

Tickets will be $10 per day, per adult and are now available online at Kids 17 and under, as well as all military personnel with ID, get in free. All ticket proceeds will benefit Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

The Judson Collegiate Invitational Foundation, Inc. (JCI Foundation, Inc.), a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, was established in 2012. Lauren Judson, now captain of the University of Southern Mississippi’s women’s golf team, lost both of her parents in a private airplane accident in the fall of 2010. The Judson Invitational Foundation was established to honor the memory and philanthropic work of Lauren’s parents. The JCI Foundation, Inc., and its charities focus on children’s causes and on providing assistance to junior women golfers.
