Lewis set to defend title, continue top-10 streak
Rolex Rankings No. 3 Stacy Lewis will defend the first of her three titles from 2013 and looks to be in prime form to take on one of the strongest fields of the year. Nineteen of the top 20 players in the Rolex Rankings will be teeing it up at Sentosa Country Club on the Serapong Course.

Lewis continued her streak of top-10 finishes after a surging finish in Thailand last week. Lewis shot a final-round 66 to jump from T19 into a tie for fifth and extended her run to 13 consecutive top-10’s. The 2013 Vare Trophy winner is closing in on a piece of history too. Karrie Webb holds the all-time record with 16 consecutive top 10’s when she accomplished the feat over the 1999-2000 seasons.

Fight for World No. 1 spot continues
With her runner-up finish last week in her first event of the season, Inbee Park made it clear that she’s not ready to give up the No. 1 spot in the Rolex Rankings without a fight. The South Korean shot 67-66 on the weekend in Thailand and battled eventual champion Anna Nordqvist down the stretch with three birdies on the back nine.

No. 2 Suzann Pettersen and No. 3 Stacy Lewis had strong finishes in Thailand as well and didn’t let Park get too much of a jump on them in the rankings. Pettersen finished 10th at 8-under par and Lewis used a final-round 66 to jump from T19 into a tie for fifth.

See below the average point difference since the November 25, 2013 rankings following the season-finale CME Group Titleholders and this week’s rankings. Pettersen now trails Park by only .76 average points while Lewis follows by 1.6.

Crunch time for the International Crown

Only three events are left until the cut off for the teams to be set for the inaugural International Crown
Major changes to the rankings came from a T14 finish by Thai player Thidapa Suwannapura. The third-year LPGA Tour player moved from 111th to cracking the top-100 this week at 97th. She helped move Thailand back into the fourth country rank, pushing Spain back down to No. 5.

With her win last week, Anna Nordqvist became the top-ranked Swede in the world and overtook Caroline Hedwall in the top spot, moving to from No. 27 to No. 14 in the Rolex Rankings.
