BOSTON, Feb. 25, 2014 – This year’s LPGA Golf Clinics for Women from MetLife will feature 14 stops throughout the nation. The first of the women-only clinics will start in April in California and conclude in November in South Florida.
The clinic series, sponsored by MetLife for seven years, will add new one-day clinics at The Seagate Country Club in Delray Beach, Fla., as well as at Westmoreland Country Club in Wilmette, Ill. Due to popular demand, two clinic stops will be offered in 2014 in both Greater Boston and Chicago.
“Beyond the exceptional coaching from golf professionals, the clinic delivers another benefit that resonates with me both personally and professionally: empowerment,” said Beth Hirschhorn, executive vice president, global brand & marketing for MetLife, Inc. “That’s a key reason why MetLife has served as the premier sponsor of the clinics. Whether a novice or a seasoned golfer, I'm confident attendees will learn something new to help boost that competitive edge – both on and off the course.”
The series is the only one of its kind officially endorsed by the LPGA, offering full-day clinics for women in a non-competitive setting with LPGA teaching and playing professionals. The clinics include fundamental skills training and on-course play with a certified LPGA Teaching Professional guiding all levels of players.
Clinic participants also enjoy breakfast, lunch, a networking reception, premium gift bag and a commemorative group photo. Clinics are hosted by a member of The Legends Tour, the official senior tour of the LPGA, and have included: Jane Blalock, 29-time LPGA Tour winner and CEO of the LPGA Golf Clinics for Women; Rosie Jones, a 13-time LPGA Tour winner and former Solheim Cup Captain; and Lori West, a veteran LPGA Tour professional and two-time Legends Tour champion.
Along with MetLife, other sponsors of the LPGA Golf Clinics for Women include: Fidelity Investments, National Car Rental, FedEx Express, Mondelez International, Dove, Keurig, Titleist, Golf Digest and Cleveland Golf. Sponsors use the clinics to empower their executives and associates through the game of golf with unique relationship-building and business-to-business, as well as business-to-consumer promotional and networking opportunities.
"We are excited to host our 24th season of full-day clinics across the nation," said Blalock. "We have terrific support from our major sponsors, many of whom take full advantage of the playing spots available in each market because the program has meant so much to their female associates over the years.
“More than 35 percent of our participants are repeat attendees,” added Blalock. “And we are leveling the playing field with men, who regularly conduct business on the golf course."
In addition to corporate clinic participation, the general public may also participate in the sessions. Limited spots are available to the general public for $375 per participant. Register now online at www.lpgagolfclinicsforwomen.com.
