LPGA RETURNS TO THE GREAT LAKES STATE
The Meijer LPGA Classic presented by Kraft will mark the LPGA Tour’s fi rst stop in Michigan since 2000 when the Oldsmobile Classic in East Lansing ended its 9-year run. It will also mark the first annual golf event to take place in Michigan’s Lower Peninsula since 2009 when the PGA Tour last hosted the Buick Open in Grand Blanc.

17 INTERNATIONAL CROWN PLAYERS IN ACTION
17 golfers, including at least one from every nation represented, who competed in the inaugural International Crown will be in action this week at Blythefield Country Club.

Three members of the victorious Spanish team - Azahara Munoz, Belen Mozo and Beatriz Recari - will all look to ride the momentum from their team’s victory into their first wins of the 2014 season, while all four members of the US squad will look to avenge their dissapointing showing at Caves Valley.

STRONG FIELD FOR FIRST MEIJER LPGA CLASSIC
This week’s Meijer LPGA Classic Presented by Kraft features one of the strongest field’s of the year as it features 9 of the top-10 golfers in the latest Rolex Rankings.

HOMECOMINGS FOR TAMULIS AND PRESSEL
This week a pair of players, Kris Tamulis and Morgan Pressel, will be looking to get their first victories of the year in front of what they would consider home fans in Michigan.

Tamulis is a native Michigander from Lapeer who is coming off her best fi nish of the season in Toeldo at the Marathon Classic where she finished in a tie for 7th, while Pressel is a major champion who picked up the game during summers spent vacationing near Detroit with her family.

WIE’S BACK
U.S. Women’s Open champion Michelle Wie is hoping that a few weeks off will help her regain the form that saw her record two wins and 10 top-10 finishes in her first 14 events of the year.

Despite missing the cut in her last two events at the RICOH Women’s British Open and the Marathon Classic, Wie is having an impressive season ranking second on the money list and in the top-10 in several major statistical categories including birdies, eagles, rounds under par, GIR and scoring average.

WOLRD #2 LOOKS FOR WIN #3 OF 2014
Lydia Ko captured her second victory of the season at the LPGA’s last full field event at the Marathon Classic. This week she will look for the third victory of her impressive rookie campaign.

Through 16 events this season, Ko has the afformentioned two victories, a pair of runner-up finishes and four additional top-10s.

MSU AND UM REPRESENTED IN THE FIELD
This week’s sponsor’s exemptions, who will tee it up with the LPGA’s best, come from a pair of Big Ten rivals in Michigan State’s Lindsey McPherson and Michigan’s Grace Choi. McPherson, a Flushing, Mich. native, started playing golf competitively at age 15, and is entering her senior year at MSU after competing in a career-high seven tournaments this past season. She recently tied a career-best finish placing ninth at the Big Ten Championships to help lead the Spartans to their third Big Ten title in four years.

Choi, who will be a sophomore at U-M in the fall, had a stellar performance on the golf team this past year. She was presented the team award for low scoring average and was also named Big Ten Golfer of the Week this past March. She ended the season averaging 75.64 strokes per round, which was a U-M freshman record.
