Kraft Nabisco Championship celebrates grand opening of The Gallery at The River
RANCHO MIRAGE, CALIF. - Amidst a backdrop of historical displays and official merchandise from the Kraft Nabisco Championship as well as an interactive volunteer center, the Gallery at The River in Rancho Mirage, Calif., opened to the public January 29 with a ribbon-cutting and other festivities. Mayor Ron Meepos was joined by Kraft Nabisco Championship Tournament Chairman Dennis Belcastro for the ribbon-cutting ceremony prior to a catered lunch by Piero's Acqua Pazza.
The new Gallery at The River represents the first time the 38-year-old Kraft Nabisco Championship has opened a retail outlet for the public. Part museum, part volunteer center and part retail store, the new Gallery features the rich history of the LPGA major tournament and a registration area for volunteers with a display of the 2009 volunteer uniforms. The location will also sell season tickets, daily tickets, Kraft Pavilion passes, 2009 tournament merchandise and Pro-Am spots for the upcoming event.
"We have been interested in opening an outlet store for the Kraft Nabisco Championship for several years in order to bring the tournament to people who don't always have the opportunity to attend the event," said Gabe Codding, business manager for the Kraft Nabisco Championship. "We are thrilled with our new location at The River, which is a destination for both valley residents and visitors to the desert area."
The KNC Gallery is located between Ben & Jerry's and Starbucks near Bob Hope Drive and Rancho Las Palmas Drive in Rancho Mirage. The store is open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 12 noon to 6 p.m. on Sundays. The phone number for the Gallery is 760/862-1892.
