Carol Mann LPGA Players Invitational teed off in Houston

LPGA Tour and World Golf Halls of Fame member Carol Mann hosted the 2009 Carol Mann LPGA Players Invitational Fore! The Women's Home, Monday, at BlackHorse Golf Club in Houston, Texas. Proceeds from the event benefited The Women's Home of Houston. The day started will a putting contest followed by an 18-hole tournament for beginning female golfers, and a four-stage, three-hour golf clinic.

Top performers in each aspect of golf were on-hand throughout the day. Mann's fellow Tour members Kathy Whitworth, Sandra Haynie, Donna Caponi, Katie Futcher, Brittany Lang, 2009 Tour rookie Stacy Lewis and four-time Tour winner Angela Stanford committed to the event. For the clinic, Rick Martino, PGA of America director of instruction, along with LPGA Teaching and Club Professionals (T&CP): Nancy Ballard (Memorial Park Golf Course); Jennifer Burdette (BlackHorse Golf Club); Betsy Cullen (Pine Forest Country Club); Aurora Kirchner-McClain (Kingwood Golf Advantage School); Lori Tatum (Cypresswood Golf Club); and Deb Vangellow (Sweetwater Country Club) were available for participants. Alli Jarrett of the USGA also instructed participants on etiquette, rules and pace of play.
