LPGA-USGA Girls Golf provides an opportunity for girls to learn the game and make lifelong friendships. While the girls are taught all areas of the game, they also learn the values inherent in the game itself – patience, perseverance, honesty, and respect. Each Girls Golf chapter is coordinated by a site director who shares the LPGA's passion for golf. Site directors understand the strong foundation that the game can bring to the lives of the girls and teach the girls to Believe in the Possibilities….
LPGA star and three-time winner Brittany Lincicome believed in the possibilities and turned her golf dreams into reality, when she won the first major championship of her career, the 2009 Kraft Nabisco. A product of the Girls Golf site in Largo, Florida, Brittany now mentors young girls as the National Ambassador for LPGA-USGA Girls Golf. Brittany recently visited with girls from two different sites for unforgettable experiences.
Girls at the Orlando, Florida site, coordinated by Barbara Groves, joined Brittany as part of a special documentary featuring Brittany as one of Barbie's top 10 Women to Watch in 2010. The girls participated in a clinic and shared some behind the scenes one-on-one time with Brittany.
Several girls from the Los Angeles, California site, directed by Markus Bruder of the Tregnan Golf Academy, were on hand at the Kraft Nabisco media day, when Mattel presented Brittany with a commemorative Barbie created in the image of the major champion. Brittany shared some of her secrets with the girls and gave them hands on instruction at the driving range.
