50-year old LPGA and World Golf Halls of Fame member Juli Inkster kept herself in contention with a second-round 70. Playing in the tougher side of the draw this week at the RICOH Women's British Open, Inkster made three birdies and only one bogey in round two. While Inkster would relish a win this week at Birkdale, she is not getting ahead of herself, "I've got a lot of golf left and a lot of good players up there. I'm going to need a little golf-god help to do it. But you never know."
Chasing history. Juli Inkster has won 31 times on the LPGA Tour with seven Major championships. She is one of six players to have completed the career Grand Slam. Louise Suggs, Mickey Wright, Pat Bradley, Karrie Webb and Annika Sorenstam are the others. With a win this week at the RICOH Women's British Open, Inkster could become the second player in LPGA history to complete the career Super Grand Slam. Karrie Webb completed the career Super Grand Slam with a win at the Women's British Open in 2002.
