Carafiello, Dickinson win LPGA T&CP Callaway Southeast Section Championship Presented by Nickel Putters
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., May 3, 2011 – Former LPGA Futures Tour and current LPGA Teaching and Club Professional (T&CP) member Jessica Carafiello captured the 2011 LPGA T&CP Callaway Southeast Section Championship Presented by Nickel Putters at the Wycliffe Golf and Country Club in Wellington, FL. Carafiello carded rounds of 74-75 to earn her first professional victory and a coveted spot into the 2012 Wegmans LPGA Championship field. She finished four-strokes ahead of 2010 Southeast Section Champion, Annette Deluca. In just her first year as an LPGA T&CP member, Carafiello previously played on the LPGA Futures Tour. As a Futures Tour rookie in 2006, she recorded a career-best tie for 13th finish at the 2008 USI Championship in Concord, NH.
LPGA Tour and T&CP member Judy Dickinson shot rounds of 76-80 to finish four strokes ahead of Cathy Schmidt in the Senior Division. The victory serves as Dickinson’s first win as an LPGA T&CP member. Last year, she served as host of the 2010 LPGA T&CP Southeast Section Championship and finished in fourth place. Prior to joining the LPGA T&CP Dickinson played the LPGA Tour. A rookie in 1978, she recorded four LPGA victories.
