Daniels won the 1975 South Australian Junior Championship and three times won the South Australian Amateur Championship. She represented Australia eight times in international competition. She also represented Australia in winning the 1985 World Amateur Pairs Championship in Columbia, South America. In 1979, Daniels won the New Zealand Amateur Championship. Her amateur highlights in the United States include winning the 1984 California Amateur Championship and earning semi-finalist honors there in 1983.
