    Harvey was a member of the Saskatchewan junior golf team from 1977-80 and a member of the international team in 1980. She won the 1980 Saskatchewan Ladies Amateur and that year was ranked as Canada’s 10th-best junior golfer. She was a member of the Saskatchewan Ladies Amateur Team from 1981-84. In 1984, she placed eighth in the Canadian Amateur Championship and was ranked as Canada’s sixth-leading woman amateur player. At Arizona State University, Harvey was a member of the second place NCAA Championship team in 1984 and the third-place NCAA Championship team in 1985.
