Martin played collegiate golf at the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA) where she recorded seven top-20 finishes and was a member of the winning 2004 NCAA Women’s Golf Championship team. She represented the U.S. in the Junior World Japan Cup (1991-1995) and was the individual winner of the 1991 Junior World Japan Cup.
