The three-year stretch starting in 1974 produced Sue’s best golf to date as she won more than $20,000 and at least one tournament in each year. She slipped from that standard in 1977, but has rebounded the past two years to win more than $10,000 in each. Her best finish in 1979 was a tie for tenth in the Barth Classic.
Sue began playing golf at age 11, taught by Nick Scarpitta in Columbus, Ohio, and she participated in many local and state amateur events. She qualified for the 1967 Trans-Mississippi Amateur.
