Skinner played a limited schedule of only 10 events in 1988 with a tie for 37th at the Planters Pat Bradley International her season-best effort. Skinner originally qualified for the Tour in 1975 and registered her career-low round of 65 two years later at the 1977 Lady Keystone Open. That same year, Skinner achieved her career-best finish, a tie for 10th at the Greater Baltimore Open. Skinner was absent from the Tour between 1979 and 1981. She requalified in 1982 and made 1984 her best season financially. Prior to playing on the LPGA Tour, Skinner had a highly successful career on the WPGT mini-tour winning eight tournament titles.
Amateur
A golfer by the age of seven, Skinner won the San Diego County Championship in 1969, 1970 and 1972. She was runner-up three consecutive years beginning in 1968 at the Junior World Championship.
