Besty King qualifies for U.S. Women's Open

Betsy King, 55, recently qualified to play in the 2011 U.S. Women's Open. King was surprised she qualified and said that she predicted her chances of making it at 25%. After retiring in 2005, King turned to charity work with Golf Fore Africa and has recently started playing on the Legends Tour. Her U.S. Women's Open qualifier was a way for her to get back in competitive mode and practice for an upcoming Legends Tour event and she ended up claiming a spot in the LPGA's third major championship of the season.
