Lydia Ko
The No.2 ranked player in the world is coming off a T-4 performance last week after holding the 36-hole lead and a share of the 54-hole lead at the LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship. With another good week, Ko has a chance to retake the top spot in the world ranking with Inbee Park’s absence from this week’s field.
Stacy Lewis
With eight top-3 finishes in 2015, Stacy Lewis is due for a win. She finished runner-up in this event last year thanks to a third round 64. While she didn’t play last week in Korea, she did tee it up in the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia where she finished T-2.
Yani Tseng
The former world No.1 continues to play great golf of late, posting her third top-5 finish in her last four starts at last week’s LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship. Yani Tseng won this event in 2011. She’ll have another shot at the title with the help of friend Suzann Pettersen who she is grouped with in round one along with Mirim Lee.
Suzann Pettersen
Suzann Pettersen has rediscovered her form just in time for Taiwan, where she is a two-time winner of this event, having gone back-to-back in 2012 and 2013. After struggling in Malaysia, Pettersen made some tweaks to her game and made a charge during the final round in Korea to finish T-7.
Azahara Munoz
Twice a runner-up in Taiwan, Azahara Munoz is looking to break through for a win this week. Munoz finished 73rd last week in Korea and has one top-5 in her last 5 starts but has consistently played well in this event.
Shanshan Feng
Having posted her 12th top-10 of 2015 last week in Korea, Shanshan Feng is looking to breakthrough this week for her first win of the season. She contended last year, finishing sixth for the week. Feng hasn’t finished outside the top-13 in her last five starts.
Chella Choi
Since this event got underway in 2011, Chella Choi hasn’t finished outside a T-34, her best finish coming in a T-11 in 2013. Choi cracked the top-10 last week in Korea to finish T-9, her fourth top-10 of the season.
Charley Hull
With an opening round 66, Charley Hull vaulted to the top of the leaderboard last week at the LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship. But as has been the case much of this season, Hull has been unable to string together four rounds in the 60’s and followed up with rounds of 74-71-75. Hull will make her first start this week in Taiwan and look to build on what she learned last week in Korea.
So Yeon Ryu
With weekend rounds of 66 and 69, So Yeon Ryu finished T-21 at home in Korea last week. Ryu has played consistently great golf all season long but has been unable to break through for a win. She has 8 top-10 finishes in 2015 and will look to better her T-7 performance in this event last season.
Michelle Wie
For the first time since May, Michelle Wie is playing in three consecutive events on Tour. Having battled back from multiple injuries this season, Wie looks to continue to regain her form this week in Taiwan, coming off a T-52 last week in Korea where she was unable to break 70. Wie finished T-20 in this event last season.
