My nephew was a volunteer at recently at the U.S. Women's Open at Lancaster Country Club. He is a high school junior.
When he retrieved something for Michelle Wie during one of the practice days, she took about five minutes to talk to him and ask questions about his life. It was an incredibly human thing to do, and we have been conditioned to view famous athletes as something other than human.
Your adds proclaim: "See Why It's Different Out Here." This is obviously more than a simple slogan. My nephew called dozens of people to describe his encounter with Ms. Wie. I am sure that each of us has by now repeated the story to our friends and acquaintances. The good will that Ms. Wie created by her small act of human kindness has increased respect I and others have for the LPGA brand.
