In mid-June with the conclusion of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, the four highest ranked players from each of the eight qualifying countries will make up the respective teams. The eight countries will be seeded No.1 through No.8 and will be divided into two pools based on the cumulative team score of the four players’ Rolex World Ranking. The competing countries include Republic of Korea, United States, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Australia, Thailand, England and China.
Following her victory at last week's Kingsmill Championship Presented by JTBC, Ariya Jutanugarn moved up eight spots in the rankings, giving her a firm hold on the top spot for Team Thailand. With Su Oh's second place finish at the Kingsmill Championship and a jump of more than 100 spots in the rankings, Oh moved into the third spot for Australia and helped lift the team to fifth in the overall standings.
Also making a move this week are Sei Young Kim, who moved into the second position on the Republic of Korea team and Gerina Piller, who climbed into the third spot on Team U.S.A.
