Cristie Kerr
This week’s Kingsmill Championship might just provide the spark Cristie Kerr has been looking for in 2016. Kerr consistently plays well at Kingsmill, she owns three victories in Virginia plus an additional three top-10’s. The two-time winner in 2015 is coming off her first top-10 finish of the year at the Volunteers of America Texas Shootout.
So Yeon Ryu
Still in search of her first victory since 2014, So Yeon Ryu continues to trend upward in 2016 with three top-10’s so far this year. Ryu nearly won in Virginia last year, finishing solo second, two-back of winner Minjee Lee for her third consecutive top-10 at the Kingsmill Championship.
Hyo Joo Kim
World No.13 Hyo Joo Kim finished T-5 in her debut at Kingsmill last season and will look to pick up her second win of the season this week in Virginia. Kim has notched three top-20’s since her victory at the season opening Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic.
Lexi Thompson
Lexi Thompson picked up her second worldwide win of 2016 last week at the JLPGA’s World Ladies Championship Salonpas Cup. The top-ranked American has consistently played well at the Kingsmill Championship, racking up three top-10 finishes including a share of runner up in 2014.
Lydia Ko
Making her first start in more than three weeks, Lydia Ko is well rested and ready to return to the winner’s circle. In her two starts at the Kingsmill Championship, Ko hasn’t finished worse than T-16.
Brooke Henderson
World No.5 Brooke Henderson is looking to pick up the second win of her career, having come close throughout the start of the season, racking up nine worldwide top-10 finishes in a row. She has finished outside the top-25 only once this season. She finished T-25 in her debut at Kingsmill last season.
Haru Nomura
Already a winner in 2016, Haru Nomura is in the hunt for her third victory of the season this week in Virginia. Nomura has an additional five top-20 finishes this season and will look to better her finish in this event where she finished T-25 in 2015.
Stacy Lewis
World No.4 Stacy Lewis has continued to show signs of returning to form, posting her second runner-up finish of 2016 in her last start at the Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic. This week Lewis will tee it up on a track where she has consistently played well but has yet to get a win, posting three top-12 finishes in five starts.
Suzann Pettersen
This week Suzann Pettersen makes her first start in a month since withdrawing before the start of the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic due to back spasms. The 2007 winner of the Kingsmill Championship has two more top 10’s in Virginia, including a second place finish in 2013.
