Candie Kung and Haeji Kang
Sunday - 2:20 p.m. CT – 1st Tee
In search of her first win in eight years, Candie Kung enters the final round two-strokes back of the lead at 12-under par. Kung came from behind to pick up the fourth win of her career back in 2008 at the LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship, where she also trailed by two-strokes heading into the final round. She’s already on track to post her best finish in this event this week, which was previously T-31 in 2014. Her playing partner, Haeji Kang, is three-strokes back of the lead at 11-under par and looking to pick up her first win on Tour. Her best finish in Arkansas was a T-11 in 2013.
Alena Sharp and Jing Yan
Sunday – 2:30 p.m. CT – 1st Tee
Canadian Alena Sharp is in position to pick up her first win on the LPGA Tour, sitting just two-strokes back of the lead heading into Sunday’s final round. Sharp is coming off her best finish of the season, having posted a T-13 showing at the Meijer LPGA Classic last week. She’s credited her good play of late to not only her hard work but work with Tony Robbins’ coach Mimi Peak who recommended some books to the Canadian including one titled Positive Intelligence which Sharp says has been a big help to her in recent weeks. Her playing partner Jing Yan is also two-strokes back to start the day, looking to continue the momentum she found earlier in June at the ShopRite LPGA Classic where she finished fifth, a career best for Yan.
Lydia Ko and Morgan Pressel
Sunday – 2:40 p.m. CT – 1st Tee
Tied at 14-under par, Lydia Ko and Morgan Pressel enter the final round with a two-stroke lead ahead of the field. Ko knows how to make a final round charge at Pinnacle Country Club, shooting a final round 63 in 2015 to vault into a share of sixth for the week. She hasn’t finished outside the top-6 in her three starts in Arkansas and a win this week would mark her third of the season, which would match Ariya Jutanugarn for the most wins so far in 2016. Sunday, Pressel is looking to pick up her second top-10 of the year and first win in eight years, her last victory coming in October of 2008 at the Kapalua LPGA Classic. The world No.34 is a major champion, who broke through for her first win at the 2007 ANA Inspiration, then titled Kraft Nabisco Championship.
