Lexi Thompson and Bryson DeChambeau slipped to 10th place after a 1-under 71 on a windy day two of the Franklin Templeton Shootout at the Tiburón Golf Club in Naples, Fla. The modified alternate shot format along with the wind challenged the field with leaders Harris English and Matt Kuchar only carding a 6-under 66 compared to their opening round 15-under 57.
Despite the tougher conditions, Thompson enjoyed the format and felt comfortable with her PGA Tour partner, Bryson DeChambeau.
"I was definitely more relaxed. It makes it easier that we both get to tee off and you get to pick from there. But I'm always relaxed out here with him. We both hit it well." Thompson told Golf Channel following the round.
Thompson and DeChambeau are currently 10-shots behind the leaders at 11-under par and will need a solid final round to climb the leaderboard. Teams will play a better ball format.
