Mi Jung Hur, Gaby Lopez, Morgan Pressel
Thursday - 7:59 a.m. – 1st Tee
Friday – 1:10 p.m. – 10th Tee
Mi Jung Hur, Gaby Lopez and Morgan Pressel are grouped together in the opening rounds of the Manulife LPGA Classic. Hur was in contention throughout much of last week’s CP Women’s Open with opening rounds of 67 -69 but was only one-under par on the weekend to finish T-23. She’s had mixed success at the Manulife LPGA Classic, her best finish coming in a ninth place showing in 2012. Lopez, a rookie this season on the LPGA Tour, is making her first start in this event. She has had a great start to her career on the LPGA Tour including two T-11 finishes this season. She’s continued to trend upward in recent weeks, including a T-23 finish at the CP Women’s Open. Pressel rounds out this group, looking to carry over the momentum she found last week in Calgary where she fired a third round seven-under par, 65 for her lowest round since June.
Brooke Henderson, Ariya Jutanugarn, Cristie Kerr
Thursday - 12:59 p.m. – 1st Tee
Friday – 7:59 a.m. – 10th Tee
World No.2 Ariya Jutanugarn and No.3 Brooke Henderson will play alongside No.23 Cristie Kerr during the first two rounds of the Manulife LPGA Classic. Jutanugarn is in the midst of another hot streak, having won her last two events on Tour at the RICOH Women’s British Open and CP Women’s Open. A win this week would be her sixth of the season, which would give her the most wins on Tour in a single season since Inbee Park in 2013. Jutanugarn will play alongside Henderson, who is sure to attract large galleries for the second consecutive week in front of a hometown crowd in Canada. A two-time winner and major champion in 2016, Henderson will look to turn around her performance in this event after missing the cut last year. Kerr is the final member of this group and returning to a track where she found success last season, opening with a nine-under par, 63 along with Cheyenne Woods and P.K. Kongkraphan to lead on day one. She’s in search of her fifth top-15 finish of the season.
Lydia Ko, Stacy Lewis, Suzann Pettersen
Thursday – 1:10 p.m. -1st Tee
Friday – 8:10 a.m. – 10th Tee
World No.1 Lydia Ko. Will play alongside Stacy Lewis and defending champion Suzann Pettersen during the opening rounds of the Manulife LPGA Classic. Ko is in search of her fifth win of the season and hasn’t finished outside the top-25 once this year. Lewis on the other hand is still in search of her first win in more than two years but has come close in recent months, posting five top-10’s in her last six starts including a T-4 showing in the Olympics in Rio. Pettersen is also looking for her first win of the year and looks to become the first player to successfully defend her title in this event. She has a strong chance of doing exactly that as she’s coming off back-to-back top-10’s in Rio and the CP Women’s Open.
Alena Sharp, Ha Na Jang, Charley Hull
Thursday - 1:21 p.m. – 1st Tee
Friday – 8:21 a.m. – 10th Tee
Alena Sharp, Ha Na Jang and Charley Hull are grouped together on Thursday and Friday at Whistle Bear Golf Club. Sharp is coming off her best career finish at last week’s CP Women’s Open where she was fourth for the week. She also had a strong finish in this event last year where she became the low Canadian with a T-27 finish. Jang is making just her second start in this event where she’ll hope to fare better this second time around after missing the cut in 2015 with a 70-73 start to the week. Hull is the third member of this group, looking to get back on track after missing the cut last week. She played well at Whistle Bear in 2015 where she finished T-11 in her first start in the event.
In Gee Chun, Paula Creamer, Sei Young Kim
Thursday - 1:32 p.m. – 1st Tee
Friday – 8:32 a.m. – 10th Tee
In Gee Chun, Paula Creamer and Sei Young Kim will play together on Thursday and Friday at the Manulife LPGA Classic. Chun, a rookie on Tour, is making her first start in this event and is coming off a third place finish at the CP Women’s Open which was her 11th top-13 finish of the season. Chun holds a commanding lead in the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year standings as she looks for her first win of the year. Creamer returns to the Tour this week in her first start since the RICOH Women’s Open, one of three missed cuts in her last four starts perhaps due to injury. Last week, Creamer shared on social media that she had received an injection in her left wrist. Kim is the third member of this group and playing with Chun for the second consecutive week. The pair played alongside Ariya Jutanugarn in the final group on Sunday at the CP Women’s Open where Kim carded a final round 65 to try and catch Jutanugarn but finished second for the week. She’s making her second start in this event where she finished T-19 last season.
