On Wednesday evening it was announced that Lydia Ko was chosen as the Best Female Golfer at the 2016 ESPY Awards hosted by ESPN. It is the second year in a row that the 19-year-old was the winner in the category.
“Just to be able to be amongst those and be a part of those nominees is I think really cool,” said Ko. “To get the best female golfer of the year again this year is a huge honor. I couldn't have done it without my team. Thanks to all the fans that voted for me.”
The World No. 1 player is off to another fast start at the Marathon Classic, firing her 10th career round in the 60s (-3, 68) at Highland Meadows on Thursday in just her fourth start here.
