Divot Group, an Austin-based agency, has been hired by the makers of Barbasol and Pure Silk shave creams, Perio Inc., to create a television campaign featuring married professional golfers Martin and Gerina Piller. The new spots feature Barbasol-sponsored, PGA Tour golfer Martin Piller and Pure Silk-sponsored, LPGA professional Gerina Piller. Both brands are strong supporters of the sport with Barbasol having a long-standing connection that dates back to the 1920s and ’30s when advertising campaigns featured celebrated PGA Tour golfers Johnny Farrell and Craig Wood. Today, Barbasol is the proud title sponsor of the PGA Tour’s Barbasol Championship, sponsors several professionals across the PGA, Web.com and Champions Tours, while also supporting the sport at the collegiate level by presenting the Jack Nicklaus Player of the Year Award. Pure Silk is an official partner of the LPGA, the title sponsor of the Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic and sponsors a large roster of LPGA professionals. The new campaign titled ‘Never Stop Competing’ takes a tongue-in-cheek look at how two married professional athletes interact at home.
