UPDATE 2:45 p.m. - Thursday’s round at the Evian Championship has been canceled. The first round of the Evian Championship will begin on Friday and played as a 54-hole event.
“The good news is the golf course is draining like never before, we really like what's going on with the greens and fairways. But with the hills and caddie bags, today we were worried about safety, everything is pretty saturated and If somebody goes down it’s not going to be a great experience," LPGA commissioner Mike Whan told the media.
Tee times Friday and Saturday will be the same as those Thursday and Friday. The cut will be made Saturday night.
UPDATE 1:30 p.m. - Due to continued developing weather, play suspended until 3:35 p.m. local time.
UPDATE 12:55 p.m. - With additional inclement weather forecasted in the area, play expected to resume around 2:00 p.m. local time.
UPDATE 11:43 a.m. - Due to course conditions, the opening round will resume at 1:05 p.m. local time.
EVIAN-LES-BAINS – Thursday morning the opening round of the Evian Championship was delayed two hours due to strong winds and heavy rain. Play will resume at 12:05 p.m. local time. Afternoon tee times are all delayed two hours, with the first afternoon tee time at 2:25 p.m. local time.
