OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. – Amy Yang reached her final hole of the day when the horn blew during the opening round of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. Round one was suspended Thursday evening due to dangerous weather in the area. Friday morning, Yang returned at 7:45 a.m. local time along with 29 other players, to complete the first round. She reached the par five in two and two-putted for birdie to take the outright lead at six-under par.
“I'm hitting the ball very solid lately, and making some putts, too. It's good,” Yang told the media after her round. “Feel pretty good about how I played yesterday and finished with a birdie today. Just looking forward to play.”
Yang is coming off her best finish of the year in a tie for second at last week’s Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G.
The second round started on time at 7:30 a.m. local time.
