Brooke Seay of Rancho Santa Fe, California, used a hot start and an incredible finish to win the ANNIKA Invitational on Sunday at Reunion Resort on the second playoff hole. Seay sunk a 30-foot birdie putt to top Sweden’s Amanda Linner on No. 18 on the Watson Course. Seay posted rounds of 69-71-70.
For claiming her first AJGA Invitational victory, Seay earns a spot in the Epson Tour season opening Florida’s Natural Charity Classic. The 54-hole tournament begins on Friday, March 10 and concludes on through Sunday, March 12 at the Country Club of Winter Haven.
Seay, a class of 2019 graduate from Francis Parker High School, already has an impressive golf resume. She won the World Junior Championship in her division at age 10, qualified for the USGA Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Championship and won the 2015 San Diego section girls golf championship.
Now, she gets to test her game against professionals.
According to Golfweek, Seay is expected to take unofficial visits to Wake Forest, Vanderbilt and Duke while she is on the East Coast.
