Ko and Ryu Headline the Field
World No.1 Lydia Ko is the top-ranked player in the field at this week’s LOTTE Championship Presented by HERSHEY. Ko is joined by No. 2 So Yeon Ryu who most recently picked up her second major win with her victory at the ANA Inspiration.
Ryu could likely pick up another top-10 here this week as she’s continued to play consistent golf in her first five starts. Since finishing second at the Honda LPGA Thailand, Ryu has finishes of T7, T5, T2 and first.
Lee Back to Defend
Already this season, Minjee Lee has two top-10s including a T3 at the ANA Inspiration and is back this week looking to defend and pick up her first win of the year. Lee fired a bogey-free final round 64, to claim her first victory of the season at the 2016 LOTTE Championship Presented by Hershey. Lee came back from a 5-shot deficit to defeat Katie Burnett and In Gee Chun by one-stroke.
Past Champions
Three players who have won in Hawaii will tee it up this week. In addition to defending champion Minjee Lee, also, in the field this week is Michelle Wie, who hoisted the trophy in her home state in 2014.
Also, in the field, former world No. 1 Ai Miyazato, who won in 2012.
Welcome To the Aloha State!
World No.12 Sung Hyun Park will make her first appearance in the Aloha state week. Park is coming off T-14 finishes at the ANA Inspiration and looking for their first win of 2016.
Park has teed it up four times this season and has finished in the top-14 in each of the events. Park is currently ranked first in the Louise Suggs Roles Rookie of the Year standings.
