Never one to shy away from a challenge, Annika Sorenstam continues to push the limits of what she can achieve. Now nine years after retiring from the LPGA Tour, Sorenstam feeds her competitive desires with a variety of different physical activities.
“It’s obvious that I’m a competitor, in case you didn’t know, I’m a very competitive person,” Sorenstam told LPGA.com in March after completing her first triathlon. “I love sports. I’ve just been doing different types of workouts since I stopped golf, so I tried different things.”
Sunday, Sorenstam met her latest challenge. The 47-year-old completed her first half marathon, The FITTEAM Palm Beaches Marathon in 2 hours, 16 minutes and 18 seconds. She finished 34th in the female division of 45 to 49-year-olds.
