PGA OF AMERICA ANNOUNCES SPECIAL PROMOTIONS FOR 2019 KPMG WOMEN’S PGA CHAMPIONSHIP AND 2028 RYDER CUP
CHASKA, Minn. (April 10, 2018) - Golf fans now have another reason to celebrate. The PGA of America has created a number of special promotions linking the 2019 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and the 2028 Ryder Cup.
Earlier this week, the PGA of America officially announced the return of the Ryder Cup in 2028 to Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota. The exciting news coincides with Hazeltine’s hosting of next year’s KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, June 18-23, 2019.
A special ticket promotion coupling the two events is now being offered. In addition, purchasers of corporate hospitality for the 2019 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship will receive preferred access to the 2028 Ryder Cup hospitality inventory.
- Tickets: Fans purchasing 10 Weekly Grounds tickets for the 2019 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at $100/ticket (plus applicable taxes) will be guaranteed the opportunity to purchase two week-long Grounds tickets for the 2028 Ryder Cup. Those interested in this dual ticket option should register at kpmgwomenspga.com, beginning at 9:00 a.m. (CT) on Wednesday, April 11. On Wednesday, May 2, a link to purchase tickets will be sent to all registrants. There are a limited number of tickets available for this offer, while supplies last.
- Corporate Hospitality: 2019 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship hospitality clients will have an advance opportunity to purchase similar hospitality packages ahead of the general public for the 2028 Ryder Cup. Inventory within premium locations will be in high demand in 2028 and unlikely to reach the greater market. Additionally, hospitality clients will also receive preferred pricing for the Ryder Cup.
"Knowing how passionate golf fans are in Minnesota, we are pleased to connect the 2019 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and the 2028 Ryder Cup via this unique ticket package,” said Renee DeLosh, Championship Director for the 2019 KPMG Women's PGA Championship. "Hazeltine National Golf Club has a storied championship pedigree and it's going to be fun to witness what these next two chapters have in store.”
Information on general ticket sales specific to the 2019 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship will be made available in July.
The 2019 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and the 2028 Ryder Cup will be the fourth and fifth major PGA of America events played at Hazeltine, which also becomes the first American venue to host multiple Ryder Cups. The 2016 Ryder Cup, won by the U.S., 17-11, over Europe, set records for ticket and corporate hospitality sales.
Broadcast in partnership with NBC and Golf Channel, the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship – the second-longest running major championship on the LPGA Tour -- offers a purse among the highest in women’s golf. Recent champions include Danielle Kang, Brooke Henderson and Inbee Park. The event combines an annual major golf championship with the KPMG Women’s Leadership Summit and the KPMG Future Leaders Program – all focused on the development, advancement, and empowerment of women on and off the golf course. This will be the first time the Championship is played in the state of Minnesota.
