A look at the equipment Nasa Hataoka used to win the 2019 Kia Classic.
Nasa Hataoka started final day one stroke off the lead, but by the time she reached the 16th hole, she had pulled three strokes clear of the field. The 20-year-old from Japan had a commanding lead and was in prime position to earn her third LPGA Tour victory. However, Hataoka’s tee shot found the water, leading to only her third bogey of the week. She bounced back from the bogey with a birdie on No. 17 and a par on No. 18 allowing her to capture the title.
“Anyone can make mistakes out here,” said Hataoka. “I forgot about the bogey very quickly. I knew that 17 was a chance I could make a birdie, and just very relieved and felt great that I was able to actually get a birdie.”
This event marks Hataoka’s first 72-hole event victory on the LPGA Tour and her third win in 18 starts. Five players tied for second (Inbee Park, Jin Young Ko, Sung Hyun Park, Danielle Kang, and Azahara Munoz.
