The Dormie Network club, an Official Marketing Partner of the LPGA, provides opportunities and support for Girls Golf in Texas
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., November 16, 2020 – The LPGA Foundation announced today that Briggs Ranch Golf Club, a Dormie Network club, has partnered with LPGA*USGA Girls Golf and First Tee – Greater San Antonio to host a Girls Golf clinic on Saturday, Nov. 21.
Dormie Network, a national network of private destination golf clubs, joined the LPGA family in June of 2019 as an Official Marketing Partner with the goal of helping the LPGA in its efforts to grow the game.
The no-cost events offer instruction on the fundamentals of golf in a fun and safe environment with a focus on the 5 E's of LPGA*USGA Girls Golf: Empower, Enrich, Engage, Exercise, and Energize. Open to girls aged 6 to 17 with an interest in golf, the event features activities such as Golfzilla, chipping and putting games as well as lively personalized drawings by local caricature artists.
“Being able to host a Girls Golf event at one of the best golf courses in Texas really is a dream come true for both our program and our participants,” said Johany Rivera, Program Manager for First Tee of San Antonio and a former member of LPGA*USGA Girls Golf for seven years. “Being able to have this partnership really sets our golf program apart from others. Our girls get to experience something most avid golfers do not get the chance to do. The course’s amazing conditions provide a practice like no other for our girls. We are so grateful for this partnership and look forward to hosting more events with Briggs Ranch!”
Through this event and others, LPGA*USGA Girls Golf has a goal of creating a safe space for young women to come together and encourage each other, not only in golf but in everyday activities. They are focused on messaging related to mentorship, peer-to-peer networking, creating lasting friendships, and teaching the girls that they can accomplish anything they set their minds to.
“Partnering with the LPGA and Girls Golf has been a blessing and a privilege. The participation of last year’s event at Briggs Ranch was amazing with 50+ young lady golfers. We look forward to growing this event year over year as we continue to develop young talents and expose new ones to the game,” said Derrick Dixon, Briggs Ranch General Manager.
