Amateur
Fruhwirth won both the California State Championship and the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship in 1991. She was a member of the 1992 U.S. Curtis Cup Team and won the U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship that same year. Fruhwirth was the low amateur at the 1992 Nabisco Dinah Shore and later that year finished as runner-up at the Broadmoor Invitational. While at Arizona State University, Fruhwirth earned All-America and All-Conference honors for three years.
