Career
Due to her non-exempt playing status in 1988, Charbonnier played a limited schedule of only nine events. She originally joined the LPGA in 1980, but was unable to play much in her first two seasons due to a chronic foot injury and rheumatoid arthritis. In 1982, she posted her career-best finish, a solo second place, at the Mary Kay Classic where she tied her career-low score of 67 during the first round. She originally recorded that score at the 1982 Hail Charity Golf Classic during the first round. The following season proved her most successful financially as she collected nearly $43,000 in 1983.
Amateur
Charbonnier became recognized as an international champion in 1975 when she won the Swiss, French and Spanish Junior golf championships. Born in the Congo and raised in Zambia, she also won the Zambian Amateur Championship in 1972 and 1973. Charbonnier represented Switzerland in the World Cup and European Cup from 1974-79. In 1977, she won the Swiss National and International titles.
