  • In May 1996, returned to official competition after a four-year absence.
  • In 1995, made her first competitive appearance since the April 1992 fire incident—played the JCPenney Classic, where she teamed with Jay Haas and tied for 17th at the unofficial event.
  • From 1993-95, did not compete in official LPGA events as a result of extensive burns on her hands and face suffered in 1992.
  • In 1992, played in just nine events at the start of the season, recording her first career hole-in-one during the Standard Register PING, and then missed the rest of the year after sustaining severe burns on her face and hands during a fire incident in April.
  • In 1991, best finish was a tie for seventh at the Desert Inn LPGA International.
  • In 1990, won the Bounce back Player of the Year Award; won three titles, the Lady Keystone Open, Stratton Mountain LPGA Classic (in a sudden-death playoff with Caroline Keggi) and the Trophee Urban World Championship; posted her career-low score of 63 during the Centel Classic; narrowly lost out on a fourth win of the season when she was defeated by good friend Nancy Lopez in a sudden-death playoff at the MBS LPGA Classic.

    Amateur
    During her junior career, Gerring won the Indiana Junior State Championship in 1976-77. While attending Ohio State University, Gerring claimed Big-Ten medalist honors in 1982-83. Also in 1983, she was named an All-American and Ohio State University Athlete of the Year.
