Graduated from UCLA in 1976 with a B.S. in Kinesiology...An all-around athlete, she was a member of the UCLA women's basketball team...A member of the UCLA Hall of Fame and the Watsonville High School Hall of Fame...Assistant women's golf coach at UCLA...Enjoys physical fitness and physical challenges...Involved with AT&T Pebble Beach Junior Golf Program...Involved in LPGA Christian Fellowship Group and working with children...Hobbies include tennis, bike riding, snow skiing and walking her dog Wilson...Has appeared in Fairway fashion feature four times.

Career

• Joined the Tour in 1977.
• Is a two-time LPGA winner: the 1978 Lady Tara Classic and the 1983 Lady Michelob.
• 1983 was her most successful season when she earned over $110,000 and finished 12th on the money list.
• In 1984, she contracted bronchial pneumonia and was limited to playing only eight events. She came back to the Tour full-time from 1985 to 1988.
• Announced her semi-retirement in 1989 and played a limited schedule of 11 events. Her best finish was a tie for sixth in the Nabisco Dinah Shore.
• Worked with the AAF/LPGA junior golf program throughout the summer of 1989, teaching golf to underprivileged and minority children in the southern California area who otherwise would not have a chance to learn the game.
• In 1990, played in only six events after she semi-retired from the LPGA Tour. Her best finish was a tie for 11th at the Standard Register Turquoise Classic. Earned $15,941.

Amateur
Coles captured the Northern California Junior Championship from 1968 through 1971 after competing in the USGA Girls Junior at the age of 13. At 17, she was medalist in the North-South Amateur. She also was an outstanding collegiate player at UCLA, winning the first event she participated in by 14 shots.
