Amateur
Briles-Hinton was a collegiate player at the University of Miami, where her team earned runner-up honors at the 1986 NCAA Championship and, individually, she finished in a tie for seventh. Briles-Hinton was the medalist at the 1986 Women’s Western Championship. The Illinois native was the medalist at the 1981 Trans-National Championship and took medalist honors for three consecutive years at the Sectional Qualifying Tournament for the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship (1982-84). In 1984, she claimed medalist honors at the Broadmoor Invitational and was a semifinalist at the Women’s Southern Amateur Championship.
