  I am currently going through Level 1 of the LPGA Professionals Teaching Education Program, which started in the Fall of 2022.

• Who introduced you to golf and when did you start playing?

  My mother’s childhood friend, Harold Banks, introduced me to golf when I was 4 or 5 years old, and I’ve loved this sport since!

• Why do you recommend golf to more women and girls?

  I recommend golf to more women and girls because it is an excellent networking sport and it is a sport you can play with a group of friends or by yourself.

• How can golf be more welcoming to black women and girls?

  As leaders in the golf community, we should be reaching out personally to the African American community about playing golf and establishing those connections. Invite someone to the range with you or have them join you for a quick, 9-hole round. We have to make this sport more inviting to everyone.

• Advice to your younger self?

  Practice more and stop getting so frustrated.

• Who would be in your dream foursome?

  My dad, Justin Thomas, and Lizette Salas.

• What is your golf “mantra” or words to live by?

  There are no pictures on a scorecard.
