Six LPGA T&CP members will compete for the $ 2.25 million purse this week at the LPGA Championship Presented by Wegmans. Sue Ginter, Jean Bartholomew, Lisa Grimes, Debbie Koyama, Charlaine Hirst and Terra Posthumus each earned their way into the major championship by winning either an LPGA T&CP national or sectional tournament.

Sue Ginter, a teaching professional at Rolling Hills Country Club in Wilton, CT., won the 2009 LPGA T&CP Northeast Section Championship. Ginter will arrive in Rochester with plenty of experience playing against the best in the world. She was an LPGA rookie in 1998 and played for several years before joining the LPGA T&CP. Her career best LPGA finish is a tie for fifth at the 1999 Michelob Light Classic, her career low round is 66, and she has three career LPGA holes-in-one. Ginter's best finish at an LPGA Championship is a T54 in 2001, while her highest finish in a major is a tie fro 22nd at the 2002 U.S. Women's Open. Prior to playing the LPGA Tour, Ginter won seven times on the Duramed FUTURES Tour. She graduated from the University of Texas in 1988 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Management. As an amateur, she won the Wisconsin State Junior and the Wisconsin State Amateur.

Jean Bartholomew is another dual member of the LPGA and LPGA T&CP. She currently teaches at The Creek Club in Locust Valley, N.Y. She won the 2009 LPGA T&CP National Championship to earn a berth into the LPGA Championship Presented by Wegmans. Bartholomew was an LPGA rookie in 1996 and has ten career top-tens on the LPGA Tour. Her best year on tour was 2000, when she finished 58th on the LPGA official money list and earned her career best finish, a second at the First Union Betsy King Classic. She also had her highest career finish in the LPGA Championship (T36) that year. Her best finish in a major championship is a tie for 28th at the 1995 U.S. Women's Open. Prior to joining the LPGA, Bartholomew played the Japan LPGA for five years. As an amateur she won the 1988 Women's Metropolitan Stroke Play, the 1988 Women's Metropolitan Match Play Championship, the 1988 NY State Amateur Championship and was the runner-up at the 1988 NCAA Division 1 Championship. Bartholomew graduated from Duke University in 1989 with a degree in Sociology.

Debbie Koyama is the retail manager and assistant golf professional at Desert Willow Golf Resort in Palm Desert, California. She won the 2010 LPGA T&CP Western Section Championship to advance into the LPGA Championship Presented by Wegmans. Like Ginter and Bartholomew, Koyama, too, played the LPGA Tour. Koyama was a rookie in 1995 and played the tour for five years. Her career best was a tie for 23rd at the Rochester International contested at Locust Hill Country Club, the same site of this year's Championship. Koyama's best finish in a major came at the U.S. Women's Open in 1993. She finished tied for 26th and earned the amateur medal that year. Koyama graduated from UCLA in 1992 with a degree in World History. Playing for the UCLA women's team, she was named to the PAC-10 All-Conference Team in 1990 and 1991 and was also an NCAA All-American in 1990 and 1991.

Lisa Grimes is the head golf professional at Geneva Golf Club in Alexandria, MN. She earned an entry into the LPGA Championship by winning the 2009 LPGA T&CP Midwest Section Championship. Grimes is a three-time LPGA T&CP section champion and a three-time Minnesota State Open champion. Her best finish is a major was an impressive 12th at the 1994 U.S. Women's Open. Grimes played the FUTURES Tour prior to joining the LPGA T&CP. She is a four-time winner on that tour. Grimes graduated from Arizona State University.

Charlaine Hirst, a teaching professional at the Country Club of Whispering Pines in Whispering Pines, N.C., is the 2009 LPGA T&CP Southeast Section Champion. Before joining the LPGA T&CP, Hirst played the Duramed FUTURES Tour for nine years. She also finished second at the LPGA T&CP National Championship in 2006. As an amateur Hirst was a stand-out player and student at Longwood College in Virginia. She was the Honda NCAA Division II Athlete of the Year in 1995, earned the 1995 NCAA's Today's Top Eight Award (Top Eight Collegiate Athletes in USA), and was named Virginia's NCAA "Woman of the Year" in 1995. She was the NGCA Division II National individual champion three times (1993-1995).

Terra Posthumus, assistant golf professional at the TCP Scottsdale in Scottsdale, won the 2009 LPGA T&CP Central Section Championship to gain entry into the LPGA Championship Presented by Wegmans. She finished fourth at the 2007 Midwest Section Championship and a top ten finish at the 2006 Duramed FUTURES Tour event in Albany, NY. She graduated from the University of Minnesota and won three collegiate tournaments. She finished in the top five at the 2003 Big Ten Championship. As an amateur, Posthumus played in two U.S. Women's Amateur Championships. The trip to Rochester will be her first start in an LPGA major.
