Patty Berg Bracket

Na Yeon Choi v. Alena Sharp
No.1 Na Yeon Choi won a hard fought, 20-hole battle against veteran Karen Stupples to advance to the third round. Sharp ousted defending champion Sun Young Yoo in a back-and-forth 17-hole battle. Sharp’s consistent play and dependable putting could give her the boost she needs to upset Choi.

Sophie Gustafson v. Michelle Wie
Wie needed 20 holes to earn a victory over Anna Nordqvist, while Gustafson recorded a 1 up victory over Paige Mackenzie. With both Gustafson and Wie consistently two of the LPGA’s longest hitters, both players will have to rely heavily on their short games if they want to make it to the quarterfinals.

Kathy Whitworth Bracket

Yani Tseng v. Julieta Granada
Neither Tseng nor Granada needed 18 holes to close out their second-round matches. Rolex Rankings No. 1 Tseng will be the favorite in tomorrow’s match, but don’t count out the scrappy Granada who has one career victory, the 2006 ADT Championship where she banked a record $1 million paycheck.

Suzann Pettersen v. Stacy Lewis
Pettersen closed out her match in convincing fashion winning the final three holes to defeat Amy Hung, 5 and 3. 2011 Kraft Nabisco Champion Lewis was in the driver’s seat throughout her match verse Shanshan Feng. In a battle against two of the best ball strikers on the LPGA, both players will be forced to make birdies if they want to earn a berth in the quarterfinals.

Mickey Wright Bracket

Meena Lee v. Angela Stanford
Meena Lee continued her impressive play during Friday’s second-round match to defeat Mi Hyun Kim, 5 and 4. Stanford further proved she can be considered the queen of match-play beating LPGA veteran, Wendy Ward 5 and 4. With both players playing spectacular golf this week, experience could be the determining factor in tomorrow’s match. Stanford’s participation in the 2003, 2007 and 2009 Solheim Cup may give her the slight edge.

Brittany Lang v. Paula Creamer
With a birdie on 18, Creamer outlasted LPGA and World Golf Halls of Fame member Karrie Webb. Lang, who is looking to become a Rolex First-Time winner, came out victorious in a back-and-forth match with I.K. Kim. The two are former teammates on the 2002 U.S. PING Junior Solheim Cup Team, 2004 U.S. Curtis Cup Team and the 2009 Solheim Cup Team.

Annika Sorenstam Bracket

Cristie Kerr v. Kyeong Bae
Kerr and Bae chose opposite routes to get to Saturday’s third-round. While Bae defeated rookie Hee Kyung Seo 1 up, Kerr claimed a 7 and 6 victory over sponsor exemption Belen Mozo. With Kerr winning both her matches in convincing fashion, momentum is on her side heading into tomorrow.

Ai Miyazato v. Inbee Park
Neither Miyazato nor Park needed 18 holes to close out their Friday matches. Tomorrow’s match-up will combine Miyazato’s six LPGA Tour victories with Park’s impressive match-play record. A former U.S. Junior Girls Champion and two-time runner-up, Park could put up a good fight against Miyazato.
