One of the most decorated players in the history of the women’s golf program at Ole Miss, Dori Carter was inducted into the school’s M-Club Alumni Hall of Fame this past weekend.

Carter was inducted alongside Johnny Neumann, Dawson Pruett, John Shaw and Patrick Willis. She joins the likes of Archie Manning in being inducted into the Ole Miss Hall of Fame.

“This is such a huge honor! It’s amazing to me that I am in the company of so many sports greats,” said Carter. “I think about the Mannings – I’m in the same club as them! I just can’t describe how much this means to me.”

Carter was a four-year member of the women’s golf team between 2006 and 2009. The Georgia native made history in becoming the first in the history of the program to be named an All-American and the only member of the program to earn first team All-SEC multiple years.

“As I receive this honor, I can’t help but think about the people who helped me get to this place in my career,” said Carter. “My family, coaches and teammates are a big part of my success and I can’t thank them enough. I may be the first female golfer in the Hall of Fame, but I won’t be the last. I’m so proud of the Ole Miss golf program, and so honored to be representing the program in the Hall of Fame.”

Carter joined the Tour in 2011 and recorded a career best sixth place finish at the 2014 Volunteers of America North Texas Shootout. Her best finish this season was a T-22 at the Meijer LPGA Classic.
