The LPGA Fantasy Series has arrived!

I am beyond excited for the start of the fantasy challenge for the LPGA season. It’s so simple to make your picks and there are some fabulous prizes each week with of course an awesome trip giveaway for the season ending winner. Click here to sign up!

Here’s a quick guide for how to register:

After you set up your account and profile, you’ll be taken to a page asking you whether you want to join all challenges or select each event individually. That’s up to you.

There’s still time to make your picks for this week’s Marathon Classic, so let’s start there. Click on the red button that says “Make Picks Now.”

The next page is where you’ll make your picks. Step 1 is picking your Team and Winner for the week. You’re given a total of 100 coins with which to build your team and next to each player you’ll see a token value assigned, the higher-ranking players are 20 tokens with the lower ranking players requiring less tokens.

Determining your picks takes some strategy! Do you want to use your 100 coins to pick just a few of the higher-ranking players? Or spread out your coins and increase your odds by selecting more players that require you to spend less tokens. It’s up to you!

Click the green button next to each player to add to your team until you’ve used your 100 tokens. Then under your team lineup on the right, select which player you think will win the week’s event by clicking on “select.”

Below your team, you’ll be asked to predict the number of birdies made by the winner if there is a tie. Enter your prediction in the box.

Then, it’s on to Step 2 where you’ll build your Backup Team, same concept as your first team but you have just 40 coins to spend here.

That’s it! Click the blue button that says “Submit Team Picks” and you’re ready to go!

Here are my picks for this week’s Marathon Classic presented by Owens Corning & O-I.

Lexi Thompson

The 2014 ANA Inspiration Champion has yet to win since her victory there last year but has some good finishes at the Marathon Classic. Thompson finished T-15 at Highland Meadows last season and T-3 in 2013.

So Yeon Ryu

A champion here in 2012, Ryu has consistently played well in this event, finishing runner-up last year. She has four top-5’s this season and is ready to break through with a win in 2015. This is a course which will require some strong putting and her work with Ian Baker Finch on her game has helped propel her into contention all season long.

Hyo Joo Kim

The rookie has played like anything but in her first season on the LPGA Tour. Hyo Joo Kim has eight top-11 finishes this season and a victory at the JTBC Founders Cup. With a premium on putting this week, Kim currently ranks seventh in putting average and will certainly be one to watch this week.

Inbee Park

How can you not pick world number one Inbee Park? She hasn’t played consistently well at the Marathon Classic but does have two top-6 finishes including a T-3 in 2012. She showed a lot of patience last week in the U.S. Women’s Open in struggling on the greens and that patience will serve her well on the small putting surfaces this week at Highland Meadows.

Morgan Pressel

Playing the best golf of her career, Morgan Pressel keeps knocking and I think that door to victory is finally going to open for her this week at the Marathon Classic. Pressel has five top-5’s this season, including a T-5 last week at the U.S. Women’s Open. She currently ranks fifth in putting average and 14^th in putts per GIR, making her one to watch. Pressel is my pick to win this week.

My Backup Team:

Stacy Lewis

Still in search of that first win of 2015, Stacy Lewis has some strong finishes in this event, including a T-7 in 2013. Bolstered by a hometown crowd, Lewis currently ranks fourth in putting average, which will serve her well this week.

Paula Creamer

The Pink Panther has consistently played well at this event, winning in 2008 and finishing runner-up in 2013.

Angela Stanford

Highland Meadows Golf Club is a course that sets up well for Angela Stanford who finished runner-up here in 2012. She had another strong finish here in 2013 when she was T-5.
