Michelle Wie
Battling back from injuries that hampered most of her season, Michelle Wie continues to trend upwards, coming off a T-14 finish last week at the Fubon LPGA Taiwan Championship for her third top-15 finish of the season. Wie played well in the first playing of this event last year, finishing tied for third.
Jessica Korda
That other player Wie finished in a tie for third with last year at the Blue Bay LPGA was Jessica Korda, who has been showing signs of her former self during this year’s Asia Swing. Korda won the Sime Darby Malaysia for her first win of the season, then finished T-36 in South Korea and T-14 last week in Taiwan.
Lydia Ko
New World No.1 Lydia Ko looks to make it back-to-back wins this week at the Blue Bay LPGA where she finished T-7 last season. Ko’s performance of late has been spectacular, winning by 9-strokes in Taiwan for her 10th career win on the LPGA Tour and her third victory in her last five starts.
Suzann Pettersen
For the past two weeks, Suzann Pettersen has mounted a charge on Sunday to vault herself up the leaderboard. Pettersen carded a final round 3-under, 69 on Sunday at the LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship to finish T-7. She followed that up last week in Taiwan with a final round 4-under, 68 to post a top-5 finish. If Pettersen doesn’t look to be in contention early in the week, keep an eye on her on Sunday in what will be her first start at the Blue Bay LPGA.
Caroline Masson
After finishing runner-up in the first playing of this event last season, Caroline Masson will look to be the one hoisting the trophy this time around. She’s been playing some decent golf during the Asia Swing, finishing 14th in Malaysia and T-37 last week in Taiwan.
Shanshan Feng
The always consistent Shanshan Feng hasn’t finished outside the top-14 in her last four starts, including two top-3 finishes. She played well in this event last year, posting a tie for seventh.
Brittany Lang
With a third round 66, Brittany Lang jumped up the leaderboard on moving day of the Fubon LPGA Taiwan Championship. She ultimately finished 9th for the week, her fifth top-10 finish of the season.
Anna Nordqvist
With two top-10 finishes in her last three starts, Anna Nordqvist will be one to watch this week at Blue Bay LPGA. She played well on this track last year with a T-23 finish.
Inbee Park
World No.2 Inbee Park did not play in this event last year but will tee it up this week for the first time since falling to second in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. Park was not in the field last week in Taiwan where Ko won and took over the top spot in the rankings. Since winning at RICOH in August, Park hasn’t finished outside a tie for 15th.
Amy Yang
After making history with nine consecutive birdies on the back nine Sunday at the LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship, it’s hard not to keep an eye on Amy Yang. She has been playing great golf of late starting with the Evian Championship where she finished T-8, finished T-12 in Malaysia, T-4 in South Korea and 8th last week in Taiwan.
